Titanium Alloy
Titanium Alloy
The major advantages of titanium alloy
(1) Titanium alloy have the features of high intensity, low density (4.4kg/dm3) and light-weight, which help the large structural parts provide a solution to reduce weight.
(2) Heat-resistant, titanium alloy can maintain the high strength under the condition of 400 ~ 500 ℃ and work stably, while the working temperature of aluminum alloy can only be under 200 ℃.
(3) Compared with steel, the high corrosion resistance of titanium alloys can save the cost of routine operation and maintenance.
Attention for machining
(1) The tools need to be ground frequently and keep sharp to ensure that generate as little heat in cutting as possible during machining.
(2) Equipment, knives, tools and fixtures should be kept clean and chips should be removed in time.
(3) Using the non-flammable or refractory tools to transfer titanium chips. Have it store in a non-combustible container and cover it.
(4) In order to avoid Sodium chloride stress corrosion in future, clean gloves should be worn when handling cleaned titanium alloy parts.
(5) It should be fire protection facilities in cutting area.
(6) Once the cut titanium chips catch fire during micro-cutting, it can be extinguished with dry powder fire extinguishing agent or dry soil or dry sand.
